In the new series "How are you doing now" we talk to former patients about the period they started treatment at Castle Craig. They tell about their experiences and how things are going now. The names have been changed, but their stories are real.

'In Castle Craig I immediately noticed that there were so many nice guys around. After a while, when I shared that with my roommate, she said that I was such an incredible man fool that I fell for everyone who had beard growth. She was right about that. I was 29 and already had nothing flings had with boys, but it never came from a real relationship. I had a close relationship with the bottle of Bacardi. And no one intervened. One evening we all watched a movie in the castle on the subject of addiction. It was the feature film 28 Days, in which Sandra Bullock played a young addicted woman who was admitted to an addiction clinic for 28 days. At one point in the movie, a therapist said there was a good method for thinking about a real love affair. That is if you could first keep a plant alive and then take good care of a pet. I had to laugh about that, but at the same time I thought to myself that it might be a plan. In any case, with a little bit of good will, you were left with a beautiful plant and a lovely pet. '

'My house is now full of plants and flowers, I have had a sweet Jack Russell for 6 years and have a daughter for 2 years. Yes, while walking my dog Dex I got into conversation with a very nice man who was walking with his German Shepherd. And we fell in love. Three years later, his dog, which had now become our dog, was unfortunately hit and did not survive the blow. Now Dex is his greatest friend and I am his greatest friend. That's what he calls us. In the 12 steps they talk about presents. I got three. The most beautiful presents ever! '
